In Thai, it's so easy to tell if a month has 31 days or 30 days. If it ends in ยน, it
has 30 days. If it ends in คม, it has 31 days. Being a private tutor in America, I'm so
tempted to teach the little 10-year-olds some Thai, so they can know what month has how
many days. It's so rough nowadays trying to get these kids to be literate, like why am I
teaching you English??? It's not even my first language.
When people are talking casually, they don't really put the คม,ยน,พันธ์ at the end. You
can shorten it once you get all of the words down tight.

As you can see in a lot of examples, when people are talking conversationally, they don't really
put the คม,ยน,พันธ์ at the end. You can shorten it, because Thai people don't believe in full
government names of anyone or anything anyway.
